Lol, being from Arkansas, I know about the pond jumping for ducks as well. Although they usually walk down creeks here and jump them up, cant really call them in certain areas so they have to improvise, lol...

I know of a few buddies that spot and stalk ducks off ponds. I will not name any names, but it is pretty common here in Oklahoma. "Pond Jumping"!

It was a buck. it was feeding down the side of a litle hill, i came slipping up a logging road and seen it so i froze, its head stayed just under the hill so as it moved down, i moved in on it till i got within 20 or 30 yards and let him have it...

Nice, Justin. I have had alot more wind me or hear me and run off. That's the way it goes. But when you do get them it is amazing. Was it a buck or doe?

Had one other staulk and spot success story, have tried about 25 and had 3 come out with perfect results. Not as good as some but love the thrill. By far my favorite way to hunt. The third story, I got within 30yrds. in the S. Texas mesquite bush, and was my first time. I saw the buck over 1000 yrds away and it took about 1 hr. of narrowing the distance as the buck never stopped walking. Shot it with my 30-06 at the base of the head and dropped it dead with a spine severing shot. I was hooked.

Spot and staulked a cull 7 pt. that was a 5x2 off my lease, got within 12 yrds and he stood up and I let the muzzy loose. Turkeys walked out about 35 yrds in front of him and he stood up to look at them. 1/4 ing away shot. Ran about 50-60 yrds. and stopped then fell right over. Arrow hit the opp. front shoulder bone and glanced out . Watched him bed down and had a 300 plus yrd. staulk to seal the deal. Also same distance, blackpowder spot and staulk deer got up went down into a creek and I paralleled him about 45 yrds away. picked up a rock and threw it slightly infront but past him. He made a big loop and ran right to mee kneeled down and at 12 yrds he cleared the bushes and saw me as I flung one into his chest . He rared up and fell over. Didn't really think that the throwing the rock thing would work.
